November 24, 2004: Long Shadows is published in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzogovina.

November 19, 2004-December 11, 2004: Erna travels to France, Belgium, The Netherlands, and Bosnia on a four-country research trip.

July 28-August 9, 2004: Long Shadows is published by Shakai Hyoron Sha, Tokyo, Japan. Erna does a three-city book tour in Fukuoka, Osaka, and Tokyo.

April 8, 2004: Erna lectures at Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, PA in conjunction with the Pendle Hill Peace Network: "Truth in History: Prelude to Reconciliation."

November 2003: Long Shadows is published by Prometej Publishers in Zagreb, Croatia, and distributed in Serbia and Bosnia. The highlight of this book launch is an invitation to meet President Stipe Mesic of Croatia in the company of her publisher, Bozo Rudez, and Dennis Snider, Canada's ambassador to Croatia.

September, 2003: The End of Days is published by Emecé Editores, Argentina, for world-wide Spanish-language distribution.

September 7-13, 2003: "Writing with Style." Erna Paris leads a workshop on literary non-fiction at the Banff Centre, Alberta, Canada.

June 6, 2003: "Cuba: The Aftermath," a paper for "Memory, Truth and Justice — The Case of Cuba," The Canadian Foundation for the Americas, Ottawa.

2003: Erna's award-winning article, "Canada's Jews and the Summer of Lebanon" (Quest, 1982) is republished in The Presence of Excellence/ Vingt-Cinq Ans d'Excellence: Twenty-Five Years of Selections from the National Magazine Awards.

November 15, 2001: Long Shadows on the Christian Science Monitor's roundup of best books of 2001. From 120,000 books in competition, Long Shadows is chosen as one of the 60 best books published in the United States.

November 11, 2002: Moorestown Friends School, Moorestown, New Jersey. Erna Paris addresses the student body on the difficulties of national reconciliation after a serious political crisis, with special emphasis on racism in the U.S. and South Africa.
